Nature
The Nørre Vosborg estate comprises approximately 533 acres, and borders on some of Denmark’s largest nature reserves.
To the west, there is a wealth of birdlife along the North Sea and Nissum Fjord, while nearly 100 km2 of Crown forest lies to the east, including the Nørre Vosborg Moor, as well as the Ulfborg and Stråsø Forest Plantations. Skovbjerg Bakkesø to the southeast is a near-pristine moraine landscape dating from the Ice Age. The River Storå forms the northern boundary of the estate. These unique, coastal, natural and cultural landscapes combine to give Nørre Vosborg an exceptional variety of recreational opportunities.
There are three footpaths on the Nørre Vosborg estate. The footpaths are well worn, and can in places be uneven. There is a map of the footpaths in the Nørre Vosborg parking area, next to the information signs
”“Here under the flowering elder we sit in
comfortable shelter, whilst o’er
bushes and treetops the gables and tower
of fair Nørre Vosborg soar –
as in the days of yore stirring memories
of Sir Bugge, Sir Podebusk and Sir Peder Tang. It’s wondrous how wellwords can
swell into song.”
