Husby Dune Preserve

Take a long walk through this sand dune preserve, which was established during the second half of the 1800s in an attempt to prevent the sand from drifting. Today there are some 2700 acres of dunes, beaches. The Danish Forest and Nature Agency has published a (Danish) brochure on this area. To read the brochure, click here.

Stråsø Preserve

See "Lærkehøj", which Hans Christian Andersen also visited and wrote about in 1859. Pick cowberries or look for woodpecker holes in the old trees. There is no end of possibilities.

Thyborøn Nature Centre and Exploratorium

Play and learn about geology and reptiles, and visit a stranded Russian frigate. The centre also shows films about the coast and its secrets.
